DEFA set to trial new planning system for complex applications

It's hoped it'll speed up the process of determining the outcomes

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is set to trial a new planning system which it hopes will speed up the process of determining major and more complex applications.

The programme’s part of government’s Built Environment Reform Programme - unveiled in July, and the Island Plan - which looks to grow communities and enhance the built environment.

Other measures will see a customer charter published to set a base line standard and a survey to gather views from the public on current services.
