DEFA aims to invest in 'large scale renewables scheme'

Minister responds to Green Party call

The environment minister says he hopes government can buy into a 'large scale renewables scheme' to address a mix of climate change challenges on the Island.

Geoffrey Boot was speaking after the Isle of Man Green Party called for his department to invest in solar technology for public housing and government buildings.

The Climate Change Bill went through its third reading in the House of Keys last week and will now be scrutinised by the Legislative Council.

Mr Boot says while solar panels are effective government needs to be addressing the issues to a bigger extent:
