Hopes for positive relationship
The new politician in charge of the UK’s relationship with the Manx government is a ‘good friend of the Isle of Man’.
That is the belief of the Chief Minister who says the trust built up by his predecessors with David Gauke should stand the Island in good stead.
Mr Gauke is the sixth justice secretary in six years following Prime Minister Theresa May’s reshuffle.
Howard Quayle says the ongoing work of politicians and senior external relations staff with UK counterparts means there’s now a real understanding of the Island’s position.
