Dalby does fair bit for fair trade

Shop rakes in healthy sum for cause

Residents of Dalby have done their bit to support this year's Fairtrade Fortnight which came to an end recently.

The initiative aims to ensure farmers in the third world are paid a fair price for their produce.

A Fairtrade Cupboard shop set up in the Dalby schoolrooms has sold almost £1300 of Fairtrade produce in just 12 months - the outlet opening its doors during events and meetings at the venue.

Two volunteers, Ann Quirk and Pamela Gorst, part of the Friends team at St James kept the shelves stocked with a wide range of Traidcraft products.
