Safe cycle campaign to petition politicans

New govt urged to push through road safety law

The man behind a move to protect cyclists on the Island's roads says the campaign is almost starting again following the general election.

Sean McLachlan set up Safe Cycling Isle of Man after the death of his partner Kate Burge in a cycling accident in Kirk Michael.

He wants to see a minimum safe passing distance enshrined in law.

Mr McLachlan says he had originally hoped to have had the law changed by the end of the last government but he will now work with the new administration.
