Crogga's financial capabilities questioned in Tynwald 

Estimated cost of work to complete hydrocarbon licence up to £40 million

External advisors are conducting an assessment of the financial capability and capacity of Crogga, according to the infrastructure minister.

It's been granted a licence by the department to drill for gas in the seabed off Maughold.

The estimated cost of the work for the licence is £37-40 million.

A decision still hasn't been made on whether or not Crogga can vary the licence to avoid carrying out a 3D seismic survey of the sea bed - something that would save over £10 million.

In Tynwald today (10 December) Michelle Haywood was asked what proof her department has that there are funds available to meet her department's licence requirement, given the recent tribunal:
