Courts to close on Monday as mark of respect for Queen

Cases will be re-scheduled in light of bank holiday

The Isle of Man Courts of Justice will be closed on Monday as a mark of respect to Her Majesty the Queen.

Her funeral will take place on the 19 September which has been declared a bank holiday.

It means that all hearings scheduled to take place on that date have been cancelled – anyone involved in a court case will be contacted with new dates.

Tribunal buildings will also be closed.

Urgent matters – including overnight custody cases – will be dealt with in line with usual arrangements for bank holidays.

Yesterday the first prosecutions brought in the name of King Charles III took place in the High Bailiff’s court.
