Port Soderick work criticised by Manx Butterfly Conservation
Environmental vandalism.
That's what Manx Butterfly Conservation is calling work carried out recently in Port Soderick Glen.
In a post on their Facebook page, the group says the area was a prime breeding area for species including the Orange tip, Meadow Brown and Speckled Wood.
But they say work to seemingly make the glen more accessible has destroyed a significant part of wet meadow and an area formerly full of the now uncommon marsh marigold.
Garry Curtis from MBC says he's not angry so much as disappointed at what seems to be a breakdown in communications.
