Chairman of UK farming organisation speaks at event on Isle of Man
The chairman of a UK farming organisation says the key to combating climate change lies in joining conservationists, farmers and the public in a united front.
Martin Lines is from the Nature Friendly Farming Network, a charity supported by a plethora of well-known names including the Wildlife Trusts, RSPB and Friends of the Earth.
At a recent event, he gave a talk to locals about conjoining farmers, habitat, nature and public support in a bid to champion farming traditions in a way that allows both nature and business to profit.
With the British Climate Change Committee aiming to plant a billion trees and reduce meat and dairy consumption by 20% by 2050, many farmers could suffer.
However, Mr Lines supports the movement, saying it's all about balance:
No impact assessment carried out ahead of minimum wage decision
Douglas Coastguard aid overnight medical transfer
Treasury 'still negotiating' backup options for MiCard users with no bank account
Yellow weather warning issued for ice
