Impact of Brexit on IOM interests

Assurance as EU departure triggered

Political and business leaders in the Isle of Man and other Crown Dependencies will be closely watching the Brexit process, and the negotiations which follow, to ensure the islands are not left worse-off.

In a letter to the chief minister last week, Theresa May gave an assurance Manx interests would be respected during the UK's departure from Europe. 

The prime minister said bonds would be strengthened between the UK and its dependencies as a new relationship is forged with the wider world. 

The House of Lords EU committee has called on the UK government to ensure the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey are fully involved in Brexit negotiations, and properly represented on the international stage.
