Refund process underway for those who took repatriation pathway

Manx residents made to isolate for two weeks at the Comis Hotel during the Covid pandemic are beginning to enter the refund process for their time there.

It was one of the recommendations of the Covid review which looked at government's handling of the crisis.

Whilst borders were closed some residents stuck abroad could pay hundreds of pounds to be repatriated, but they had to stay in their hotel room, being allowed into a courtyard for fresh air for one hour a day.

The Isle of Man Government paid the hotel £94,000 to provide the quarantine service, with 112 residents staying their between 15 April and 13 May.

Applications for refunds opened towards the end of June.

Those who travelled to the Isle of Man via ferry on 15, 22 and 29 April, and the 6 May 2020 are eligible.
