Meeting to debate 'biggest challenge'

There's a chance for the Manx public to find out more about the critical issue of public sector pensions at a meeting next week.

Meeting the pensions bill has been described as the Island's biggest domestic challenge, with reform of the current system at the top of the political agenda.

The meeting at the Manx Museum on Monday night (23 May) has been called by the Public Sector Pensions Authority (PSPA), who say they will share information on the issue and hear the public's views.

Authority vice chairman John Shimmin says options for reducing the cost of the scheme to the public purse, will be outlined.

But he's promised the event is not for the government to promote any specific policies or proposals.

Admission to the meeting is free and doors open at 7pm.
