Evidence submitted to UK Treasury

The chief minister admits it 'isn't an easy job' defending the Isle of Man against accusations of financial wrongdoing.

Government has this week submitted evidence to the UK Treasury, explaining what is being done to combat tax evasion and money laundering.

It's aimed at assuring Whitehall of the authorities' 'zero-tolerance' approach, and the level of resources being used to enforce the policy.

Last week saw a diplomatic visit by MPs Andrew Mitchell and Dame Margaret Hodge, who have campaigned to have the Island change its beneficial ownership regulations.
