Christmas trade 'vital' for restaurants

Business owner says rising costs still creating 'perfect storm'

Global supply costs are creating a 'perfect storm' for many businesses in the hospitality sector.

That's according to one business owner, as bookings and demand at venues are seeing a rise in the build-up to Christmas.

Mitch Sorbie is the owner of Just Pizza & Pasta on North Quay in Douglas.

He says good trade during the festive season will be 'vital' for the Island's restaurants:

Meanwhile, there's a consensus amongst some pubs on the Isle of Man to look to 'ride out the storm' of rising costs facing the industry.

Ben Sowrey is the landlord of the Ginger Hall Hotel in Sulby.

He says it's a delicate balancing act between trying to meet costs without out-pricing their customers:
