Dead man still to be named
The Island's chief constable has described the first 24 hours after finding a dead man in Douglas, as 'tricky and demanding'.
Gary Roberts has commended police officers and special constables for their efforts, as well as who he describes as their 'friends' from the fire station.
The police have yet to release the identity of the man found near Back Marina Road, at approximately 7pm on Monday evening.
Mr Roberts also thanked civil defence for giving the police logistical support.
The investigation into what happened is continuing.
It has been a tricky and demanding 24hrs for us and a lot of hard work is continuing. However, I have been hugely impressed by the efforts of police officers, Special Constables, and our friends in @iomfire and in civil defence who gave us terrific logistical support. https://t.co/IvGk9ezFOo
