Chief constable 'appalled' by UK officer's death

PC Andrew Harper was killed on duty

The Island's chief constable has branded the death of a police officer in the UK 'appalling'.

Newlywed 28-year-old PC Andrew Harper was killed when he was dragged along by a vehicle while attending a reported burglary.

Ten men, aged between 13 and 30, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody at various stations.

Gary Roberts tweeted to say 'everyone in the Isle of Man Constabulary shares feeling of revulsion, horror and sadness', adding they are 'thinking of Andrew, his family and his colleagues.
