Case against police officer adjourned

31-year-old appears at Douglas Courthouse

A police officer charged with assault has had her case adjourned for a month.

Thirty-one year-old Charlene Dooley from Laxey is accused of common assault, causing actual bodily harm and affray.

The constable is currently suspended from work.

The offences she’s alleged to have committed are not related to her duties.

She’ll appear in court again on March the 18th.

UPDATE:

At a subsequent appearance, the above charges were withdrawn and replaced with a single charge of common assault.

After pleading guilty, she was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £125.
