Cannabis leads to increase in driving under the influence arrests

23 arrested during December

The prevalence of cannabis on the Island has contributed to the rise in the number of drivers being caught under the influence.

That's from Sergeant Jamie Tomlinson of the Roads Policing Unit, following a spike in numbers during December.

Twenty-three arrests were made in the month, more than 50% higher than the year before.
