Cancelled surgeries on the rise

Seven ops pulled between July and September

There's been an increase in the number of Island patients denied surgery because of a shortage of hospital beds.

Seven non-urgent procedures were cancelled at Noble's Hospital during the previous quarter, July to September this year.

That's the highest figure for that period in five years.

The data was revealed by Health Minister Howard Quayle, in response to a House of Keys question for written reply from Onchan MHK Zac Hall.
