Cameron praises Crown Dependencies

PM's vote of confidence in offshores

The Prime Minister has praised the Isle of Man for the steps it has taken to promote transparency and fairness.

 

David Cameron was speaking at the UK’s first anti-corruption summit this morning (12 May) which is being attended by a number of world leaders, including Chief Minister Allan Bell.

 

The event at Lancaster House in London saw Mr Cameron defend the stance of Crown Dependencies and Offshore Territories which have met international standards of transparency, during his opening address.

 

Mr Bell, who sat alongside Chief Minister of Jersey Ian Gorst, and in front of Mr Cameron and US Secretary of State John Kerry, told those assembled the elephant in the room is the United States:
