Cabinet Office begins AG recruitment

Closing date on December 2

The Crown is looking to fill the role of Attorney General on the Isle of Man.

The last AG - Stephen Harding - retired in September from his post as a legal adviser to government.

Duties include responsibility for drafting Bills into the legislature, and representing the Crown in the prosecution offences here.

The chief minister, His Honour the First Deemster and the President of Tynwald are asked to make recommendations to the Lord of Mann.

It's then left to Her Majesty to make the appointment - which will be announced after the closing date for applications on December 2.

Anyone applying for the post will need to be a qualified Manx advocate with a comprehensive knowledge of the system, and at least 10 years of experience.
