Police have confirmed a further spate of burglaries in the Island.
Officers say burglars struck at 'several' addresses in 'the Greater Douglas area' over the past few days, but have refused to specify where and when.
Suspicious activity has also been reported in a number of unnamed locations in the same period.
After a lull in cases during February, six burglaries were reported last week and officers admitted they bore many similarities to the series of 40 break-ins around the Island after Christmas.
Police say they are following a number of positive lines of inquiry but suggest efforts to catch the burglars may have been dented by the amount of information about the crimes available online.
A statement issued by CID said: 'In the UK, burglary will very rarely feature in the news, and as a result, the details and patterns are denied to the criminals.'
It went on: 'It appears to us that on the Island the reverse is happening, and due to the sometimes detailed information available online, offenders are becoming very well informed about matters. This may not be helping the considerable efforts being made to locate these individuals.'
Police continue to advise householders to let neighbours and friends know when they are away or on holiday and to keep valuables locked away.
