BUDGET: Pensions to increase in 2022

Rises in state pension amount, Child Benefit and Carer's Allowance

Around 19,000 pensioners on the Isle of Man will see their pension rise by 3.1 per cent this year.

The basic state pension, additional pension and Manx State Pension are all being increased.

Those claiming the Manx State Pension will receive £202.23 per week – up from £196.14.

Around 3,000 individuals and families who are on low incomes will also benefit from a rise in Income Support and Jobseeker's Allowance - Child Benefit is also going up by five per cent.

Disability allowances are also up – with Carer's Allowance increasing by 15 per cent; something that is set to benefit around 550 Manx caregivers.

Benefits: 

  • Basic state pension, additional pension, Manx State Pension will all rise by 3.1 per cent
  • Child Benefit and Employed Person's Allowance will both increase by 5 per cent
  • Carer's Allowance will rise by 15 per cent
  • Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance and Income Support for disability and disabled child premiums will rise by five per cent
  • Income Support Carer Premium to increase by 26.4 per cent
  • Nursing Care Contribution to increase by 3.1 per cent
