Border changes won't come into force on Saturday

Request to discuss new proposals voted down

Proposed changes to the Isle of Man's border restrictions will not be brought in this weekend.

The Council of Ministers had asked Tynwald to consider a number of changes today (22 July) – a request that was voted down.

Plans to open up travel from countries on England's green and amber lists, exempting children under 11 from testing and isolation and removing exit tests for those who've travelled were put forward.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle says he's disappointed the discussion was put off:
