Guide price of £1 million
Bidding will reopen once again on a historic yet disused building along Douglas Promenade.
In just under two weeks time the Castle Mona is up for auction by Lambert Smith Hampton (LHS) at a guide price of £1 million pounds.
The auctioneers have described the landmark former hotel and residence as a 'development opportunity', and state Island planners want to see the registered main mansion house re-used.
A planned auction had been suspended by LHS after an anonymous offer had been received - reported to be in excess of one and quarter million pounds.
This latest auctioning round will take place on October 16.
Castle Mona had recently gained the attention of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, who enthused about the building on BBC Radio's Steve Wright Show after a visit inside.
The site is currently owned by the Sefton Group, who own the nearby Palace Hotel, casino and cinema - which is available by separate negotiation.
