Be wary of relaxing work permits

Chief Constable has concerns

The Island's most senior police officer has weighed in on the issue of relaxing work permits.

Proposed changes to current laws have been put forward to make it easier for businesses to fill vacancies and industries to bridge skills gaps.

The Chamber of Commerce has voiced fervent support for the government to make it easier for employers to recruit new staff.

However, Chief Constable Gary Roberts says we need to be wary changes to legislation don't lead to the wrong type of people coming to the Island
