Engine failure for yacht 12 miles west of Peel
There was a May Bank Holiday callout for Peel Lifeboat yesterday afternoon.
The Ruby Clery was launched at 3pm to go and help a yacht which was in difficulty 12 miles west of Peel.
The vessel had suffered a sudden, total engine failure, despite being new.
With a further rigging failure, the yacht had no alternative but to call for assistance.
The “Orme Fox” and the three people on board were towed to Peel.
