Tynwald motion to reverse decision defeated
The Island's largest trade union has criticised government for 'breaching contractual obligations' on the removal of the Senior Race Day bank holiday.
Unite says the 'unilateral decision' to replace it with a new holiday in August has implications for employees rights, and was done without any consultation.
A Tynwald motion by Claire Barber MHK to reverse the decision was defeated yesterday (12 May).
