Arrow to ease backlog as Liverpool sailings cancelled

All Tuesday's Steam Packet sailings between the Isle of Man and Liverpool are cancelled and there's no word yet when Manannan will be back in service.

Services across the Easter bank holiday weekend were disrupted after the fast craft suffered serious damage to her propulsion system.

Attempts to repair the problem overnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - to keep the vessel operational - failed.

The travel plans of thousands of visitors and locals have been thrown into disarray, and many are still waiting to re-book their travel.

The Packet's stand-in replacement vessel the MV Arrow is due to arrive in Douglas this morning, to carry freight.
