Another yellow weather warning issued for ice and snow

Higher ground above 1000ft most at risk

Another yellow weather warning has been issued for ice and snow tonight (17 February) with a further risk of road surface temperatures falling close to, or slightly below, freezing.

Ronaldsway Met Office says ice could form on any untreated surfaces, with higher ground above 1000 feet most at risk.

Outbreaks of rain are expected to develop towards midnight with a risk of falling as sleet or snow over higher ground and, although accumulations are expected to be small, this will further enhance the risk of ice.

The warning comes into effect at 6pm until midday tomorrow (18 February).

A yellow weather warning indicates a risk of travel delays, minor damage, localised or temporary disruption.
