Animal welfare bill 'remains high priority'

New animal welfare legislation remains a 'high priority' for the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.

That's according to the minister.

Clare Barber was asked in Tynwald this week when a new bill would be introduced on the Isle of Man.

A draft version went before the court in April this year but was thrown out after complaints it wasn't fit for purpose.

Mrs Barber says protections for companion animals such as cats, dogs and horses will remain a key focus of any new legislation:
