A software company in Ramsey has given £1.5 million to a host of charities this Christmas.

The AFD Group's annual giveaway has gone to more than 70 organisations to help poverty, education, international development, and 'the mental health crisis'.

Those who've received funding include the Children's Centre, the International Justice Mission, and Developing Orphans (DO!).

Director David Dorricott says staff members have been involved in choosing the charities:

AFD's objective is to 'generate profits and use them to relieve suffering, improve society, and further the Christian gospel'.

It develops postcode and address management software and employs around 40 people at its Mountain View Innovation Centre off the Jurby Road.
