Adults struggle to report abuse, says Safeguarding head

Fear of being cut off prevents victims coming forward

The independent chair of the Island's Safeguarding Board believes many adults find it too difficult to report abuse.

The body works to prevent and raise awareness of abuse against children and adults.

Glenys Johnston OBE took over the role last year, and has done similar work in Jersey.

She says the fear of being cut off by a loved one can make adults think twice about speaking out:
