June 2022 sees highest number of absences with 467 days missed
Bus Vannin staff have missed more than 1,300 work days in the last year due to Covid-19 and stress.
Last month saw the highest number of sick days with 39 workers absent for 467 days.
Fifteen workers were absent from work with Covid-19 in June 2022 resulting in 104 days missed.
Five employees were off with personal stress while a further three missed time through work-related stress resulting in a total of 107 days absence in June.
March saw the highest number of workers missing time through illness with 47 taking sick days during the month - Covid and stress were again the main reasons for absence.
Between the start of July 2021 and the end of last month a total of 649 work days were missed due to positive Covid results while staff spent an additional 14 days in self isolation.
635.5 days were missed due to personal stress with a further 25.5 absences with work-related stress.
Musculoskeletal issues, pregnancy and allergic reactions were among the other reasons cited for sick days after the last 12 months.
Other illnesses such as colds, cancer, chronic fatigue and blood disorders also led to missed time.
In total 3,318 days were missed by Bus Vannin staff in the 12 months to the end of June.
The figures were published by the Department of Infrastructure in response to a Tynwald written question from Douglas North MHK David Ashford.
