Students showcase craft expertise to industry
Construction students at University College Isle of Man have been showcasing their skills to the local industry, in a day long competition.
Forty-two students from all the craft professions have been given practical tasks to complete while being observed by judges from local companies.
The event has been held in UCM's purpose-built Baillie Scott Wing, where the next generation of Manx construction workers are learning their trades.
For the first time this year, horticulture students have taken part.
Programme manager Corelli Bentham invited schools, construction firms, building supply companies and the general public to watch the youngsters at work.
Winners in each section will be awarded prizes donated by building suppliers, many of whom also donated materials for the competition.
