Signs of recovery at Ronaldsway

Passenger figures at Isle of Man Airport showed signs of recovery in August.

Statistics from the Department of Infrastructure show a slight increase over the same month last year, with 45 more people using the airport.

Figures took a tumble earlier year, because of the economic downturn and the volcanic ash cloud, and airport bosses were disappointed that a long-awaited recovery took longer than expected to arrive.

But 65,597 passengers passed through the facility in August, which is seen as a reasonable number.

Liverpool saw almost 3,000 more passengers than last year, while the figures for Manchester and Blackpool were slightly down.
