Senior appointment at MT Data Centre

Manx Telecom has announced the appointment of Mark Mead to a senior role within the fast expanding technical team at the company's world class Data Centre at Douglas North.

After gaining extensive industry experience across a broad range of blue chip organisations, including most recently working in the Netherlands, Mark has been recruited in the key position of Storage Specialist.

Manx Telecom says he will be tasked with delivering the company's complex storage area network projects, and helping to expand its managed hosting portfolio, through distributed storage products.

The purpose-built Douglas North Data Centre, completed in 2005 at a cost of over £10 million, hosts some of the largest international eGaming companies, on-line bookmakers, global payment processors, international e-money providers and major banks.

More than 30 staff are based at the facility, whose fast-developing core network and enterprise hosting operation is ready to take on additional capacity.

Manx Telecom, a subsidiary of the Spanish based telecommunications giant Telefónica, employs over 300 staff on the Island.
