Rate of inflation continues to fall

Inflation in the Isle of Man has fallen for the second month in a row.

It went down from 5.9 to 5.2 per cent in October, according to the latest government figures, measured by the Retail Prices Index.

The rate of inflation excluding housing costs also went down, from 6.6 per cent in September to 5.9 per cent last month.

The rate shown by the Consumer Prices Index stood at 5.7 per cent.

Inflation peaked at 6.8 per cent in August, having risen steadily from minus one per cent in June 2009.
