Funds for new equipment
A Douglas football club’s junior set-up is benefiting from the ongoing support of professional services firm PwC.
It has renewed its sponsorship of Douglas Athletic juniors, to help the club expand its coaching and purchase much-needed equipment.
Over the past two years, the club has started training sessions for children of school reception age through to year four, and is now coaching more than 50 youngsters each week.
PwC’s renewed sponsorship has helped buy a new kit for the under-7s team and new equipment such as balls, bibs, pop-up nets and first-aid bags.
It'll also go towards funding five new coaches undertaking their FA Level One coaching course, and will pay for extra indoor training sessions for the growing number of players throughout the winter.
The assurance director at PwC Isle of Man, Paul Jones, says, "We have many members of staff whose children are interested in football and it’s an important part of our ethos to help make the sport available to all."
