School event to foster enterprise ethic
For Year 8 Students at Castle Rushen High School, this has not been a normal week.
They've swapped normal lessons for a business brainstorm - covering all things from budgeting and planning to promoting and advertising.
Over two days, the youngsters have been helped to devise effective marketing campaigns with the help of Junior Achievement.
Beach Buddies, the One World Centre and Adventurous Experiences are among organisations lending support to the initiative, which ended with a competition for the best presentation judged by external business mentors.
In an immersive two days, groups of students were set a business marketing challenge, to promote a product or event by producing a radio advert, a logo, a poster, a launch event and a press release.
