Barclays helps raise money for Hospice IoM
Do you ever think "if I'd have had a pound for every time I'd heard that"?
Well, Barclays actually put that into practice recently - and raised £460 for a local charity at the same time.
The "Ping-a-Pound" initiative at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show, which took place a fortnight ago, encouraged members of the public to donate a single quid via their mobile transfer app PingIt.
Donations were matched by the bank, which led to the tidy sum going straight to Hospice Isle of Man.
It's being put towards a wheelchair-friendly bench in the Children's Garden at Rebecca House.
Visitors to the Barclays stall at the Royal Show were also taught digital skills, including basic coding and an introduction to virtual reality.
