Moscow-bound Airbus joins Manx register

The newest plane on the Manx Aircraft Registry is making its first visit to the Island today.

The Airbus 318 is stopping-off to complete tax formalities this afternoon before heading to its new home in Moscow.

It's a medium-range jet airliner which can carry 132 passengers, but in line with registry rules will not be allowed to operate commercially.

The brand new aircraft was purchased in Hamburg this morning, and immediately placed on the Isle of Man register.

It is the 472nd aircraft to join the Manx register, where confidence is growing the 500 mark will be reached by July.
