Microgaming donation funds purchase of equipment for Noble's


The charitable arm of Isle of Man online gaming software firm Microgaming is to fund new life-saving medical equipment for Noble's Hospital.

A 'substantial' sum donated by Microgaming Health & Care Trust will purchase an ultrasound scanner, photo therapy fibre optic system and infant resuscitating monitor for different departments.

The scanner will be used on the Medical Unit to assist doctors perform liver biopsies and diagnose chest and rheumatology conditions.

In the Maternity Unit the new monitor will help save the life of new-born babies needing resuscitation while the fibre optic system is for the treatment of neo-natal jaundice.

Chief Nurse at Noble's Bev Critchlow has thanked the trust for the donation of equipment which she says will be used on a daily basis.

The Microgaming Health & Care Trust exists to support Manx charities and local health and social care projects of benefit to the wider community.
