Up 0.1% from previous month
The Island's inflation rose to 2.5 percent last month.
It's up 0.1 percent from December.
The largest category movement for the 12 months to January was rent, which went up by 19 percent.
Driving lessons and tobacco also saw large increases, going up by 12.5% and 10.3% respectively.
Restaurants and hotels as a sector saw the biggest increase having risen by nearly six percent compared to 12 months ago.
Some of the biggest decreases though were gas, sticking plasters and oil.
