Government's award for TTXGP

The role of the Isle of Man Government in promoting low carbon technology has been recognised by an international engineering body.

Minister for Environment John Shimmin MHK accepted an award from the Institution of Engineering and Technology which acknowledged the Manx Government's hosting of the TTXGP, the world's first Zero emissions motorcycle race, during the 2009 TT meeting.

Mr Shimmin said he was delighted to receive the award on behalf of the government and everyone who helped to make history with the race.

President of the IET Professor Christopher Snowden said the vision, drive and determination of the government was key to running such a succesful event.
