Government seeking PR agency

Account comes under review

It's being reported the Isle of Man Government is seeking bidders for its PR account.

News agency PRWeek says around 50 firms have been contacted as part of the preliminary tender process, which has come up for renewal.

It's expected the new contract will be awarded by the end of 2016.

The government's account is currently handled by London-based agency Lansons - which boasts a portfolio of clients including ASDA, the Stobart Group, JP Morgan and PayPal; as well as, incidentally, a number of Island-based clients such as Microgaming and Baker Tilly.

The successful bidder will handle public affairs for the Cabinet Office and DED - which will be no easy task in a post-election, post-Europe, post-Panama, post-Vision Nine political era.

It's understood the contract involves six figures.
