Food & Drink Festival worth £300,000 to economy

Economic value of event rises by almost £70,000 in one year

The Isle of Man Food & Drink Festival is worth almost £300,000 to the Manx economy.

An Exhibitor and Visitors Research Report compiled by the Marketing Partnership found the figure had risen from £230,000 in 2017 to £298,000 this year.

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture estimates the food sector is now worth over £100m to the economy.

DEFA adds that the economic value of the event appears to be increasing consistently year on year, and that it hopes to see this continue in 2019.
