Caltongate project moves forward

A multi-million pound deal to revive one of Edinburgh's most ambitious regeneration projects has been unveiled by a Manx company.

The Caltongate project collapsed two years ago, but an international consortium headed up by Isle of Man based Artisan Real Estate Investors will now buy the historic Old Town site.

Artisan was founded in 2008 and is a niche provider of property investment advisory services, bringing together South African investors.

As reported by Manx Radio, another Manx company, property investment firm MAS plc., is also involved in the deal.

The Caltongate project will see a five-star hotel, a conference centre, offices, shops, cafes and 165 new homes built in the city.
