If you can’t live without your mobile phone, you will be pleased to hear the Ben my Chree is the first of the Steam Packet’s fleet to carry a new mobile charger unit.
The BuzzBox, created by Port-Erin based Stay Mobile Technology is a recharging locker where phones can be left securely while charging.
Dr Joe O’Mahoney came up with the idea in 2003 after he suffered a flat battery and couldn’t find a charger while on the motorway.
He invented the BuzzBox, and won the recent Foxes Lair competition for Island entrepreneurs.
If the unit on board the Ben my Chree is a success, the Steam Packet says it will consider installing another on the Superseacat Two.
