Local businesses are being asked to get behind a new scheme from the 'Be Safe Be Seen' campaign.
Over 1,000 children in the west of the Island have been issued with reflective strips, to make them more visible to motorists in the dark winter evenings.
But further financial support would be needed for the scheme to operate in other areas.
The government's Road Safety Training Co-ordinator Andrea Georgeson (pictured) hopes it will be forthcoming:
